  1. I have an ATI-ALL-IN-WONDER, and I can capture an mpeg2 file the only problem is on the audio my sampling rate goes as high as 44.1hz, it doesn't give me the option of going to 48hz?, does anyone have a suggestion to help with this problem.

If that problem can't be solved does anyone know of a video capture device that can capture mpeg 1 or 2 in realtime, and on the mpeg2 be able to sample the audio at 48hz, with maybe options to change the bit rate.

Try Cyberlink PowerVCR or Intervideo WinDVR. Both should work with your card, do MPEG2, and offer the ability to capture at 48 KHz sound.

    Yo Bradskey

    It's the Fozz

Where's the option for 48hz audio in PowerVCR???

I can see it in WinDVR2 but not PowerVCR2.

    Cheers

You're right, Fozz, its not available. In fact, it doesn't even tell you what sample rate you are getting, although it is in fact 44.1 KHz. However, PowerVCR does support audio bitrate up to 384 Kbps, whereas WinDVR only supports up to the standard 224 Kbps. Not sure either feature makes a big difference though. 44.1 at 224 is pretty decent already.

Does anyone know if you can capture at 352x480 in PowerVCR II? I wanted to capture MPEG2 for CVD.
PowerVCR lets me capture at 320x480 and calls it 1/2 D1 but I don't think that is correct. I tried 640x480 but it might just be beyond my CPU limits (although I haven't tried shutting off background applications yet)
I haven't burned a 320x480 MPEG2 yet but it plays great on my PC. I just don't know how I can even burn it to VCD with the 320 resolution?
    Thanks

  6. Hi gabez,
I have version 7.7.0.1 of ati's mmc, and it enables 48 Khz sample rated, you must be using a older version of software. Take a look at ati's website for newer version.

How do you capture direct to mpeg2. Card or software?

  8. Hi Marco33,
It depends on your card, some do it on hardware on the capture(big bucks) or some do it in software (cheaper).

  9. I have an ASUS V8200 T2 with an S video in. Altho very expensive at the time, probably not what your talking about. So that leaves us with software...

What software do you know of captures direct to mpeg2?
