I get my 2x media from www.finodisc.com . I buy them at a local computer swap meet . I buy the 50 pak for 65.00 and the work great, though my Sony does not like them much my Pioneer does not have a problem with them.

Hello dude, i understand your concern about using princo media. IF YOU HAVE A PIONEER DONT USE PRINCO!!!!!!!
I have a pioneer too, an 105 model and I always used Princo media, the result is, in 10 DVD movie copies only 2 or 3 are good to play in my home dvd thomsom dth 5220. So for me, once and for all, I will never use princo DVD-R again.
So, by my DVD copy results and some friends, that have the pioneer DVD-R 105, I can conclude that we should not use PRINCO, WORLDGATE and INTENSO, all of these media causes read problems with some HOME DVD Players. I will start using TDK and i will try other cheaper media so i could have better luck and reduce the costs. -
maybe you should burn the princo's at 1x, I have some GQ ( Great Quality ) DVD-R discs that I bough early on and they are 2x but are real iffy for moie work. Even my much vaunted Pioner tend to puke on them from time to time, and My Sony positivley does not like them. Hence I only now use them for data ( and not critical data at that ) but not at a full 100% burns, but to 90 % or so. I doubt the GQ are made by GQ but someone else ( I need to run the DVD ID utility to see manufactuer ).
