I want to know because i have a PS2 and it plays movies widescreen but when i play a movie on my TV (Through a DVD decoder card on my computer) I can make the movies 4:3 or 16:9.

With most DVD players you have a preference on how to play a 16:9 movie; either as 16:9 widescreen or 4:3 letterboxed. The setting you use depends on what type of TV you have.
