I'm trying out the demo version of CCE but whenever I drop an AVI file on the program, after the encoding setup dialog, I get the error 'Read Only 0 bytes, while expecting 8 bytes.' I've tried various codecs and resolutions for the VirtualDub captured source AVI file, but I get the same message each time. TMPGENC has no problems with the files. Any ideas?

If you have a AMD processor and are using CCE v2.50 then it might be giving you problems with encoding the audio. I used to get that error then someone suggested to encode the video only and use another program for the audio
then mux it all together. It worked for me. No problems since.

don't think its specific to AMD, read in a few places CCE is crap at audio when using VBR....using a athlon 1.2 gig.....and have no probs at all...tho i have always done the audio separately
using CCE is a hassel but the results are worth it -
I'm running a Pentium III 1Ghz. I haven't
tried demultiplexing the file, encoding the
video, then multiplexing the file back together.
Something to try tonight. Thanks.
