Virtual Dub doesn't find my Video Card

Hi,

I bought 2 TV Cards. At first the Pinnacle DC10+ to save my old VHS Films on a digital media. The second card is the Hauppauge WIN TV NOVA. With this card I can watch digital TV from the satellite.

The problem is that Virtual Dub only finds the pinnacle card, but not the digital receiver card.

From now I want to save nice films that are shown in TV on my HD an then burn them as a SVCD, but how can I capture the films with my WIN TV NOVA-CARD? The program that came with the card ist shit. If you record with it you get a mpg file that no other application, e.g. TMPGEnc, can convert. TMPGEnc always says "incorrect file format", so what can I do to capture the videos correctly?

...i have the USB version, and am almost comforted to hear that the card version of this device is as crap in terms of output files.

best results are with FlaskMPEG, which seems to open almost anything. takes a while though...will use any native codecs (e.g. Divx), so has many useful file output types
