I have a AVI film that when I put it into Virtual dub (latest version) it throws open a small window stating that **Parsing interleaved MPEG file** also G spot ID's it as an Mpeg so how can I go about saving it from virtual dub as a legitimate AVi file that I can encode to Mpeg2 for DVD Authoring??
Thanks in advance

Well it seems obvious to me that it is not an avi file but is in fact an mpeg file, so change the file extension to .mpg.
It must be mpeg-1 as vdub does not open mpeg-2 so that helps us a little. I suggest you get bitrate viewer (the freeware version) and check out its properties. If its resolution is VCD standard then there is no pint re-encoding as this is valid for DVD. Just demultiplex the audio (using TmpGenc mpeg tools) and change to a 48khz sample rate, then author.
There is a guide under authoring on how to put VCD video onto DVD-r. -
Hello again
I put it in to TMPGenc and encoded it to Mpeg2 from mpeg1, dont know if it was supposed to work like that but it did and I authored it with no problems to DVD-R
I do need your help with with another topic I posted in the forum about havin no sound in Mpeg2's. I understand about searchin the forums for answers before posting questions but im I have done that and im stuck
