  1. I have downloaded TMPGEnc because I thought I would be able to convert AVI files to VCD, but I am not able to see how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I can't beleive you asked that...

    The answer is Yes.
Click the "Convert" under the "How To" menu at the left of this screen.
When you get to that page then click "How to convert to vcd with TMPGE"

After you convert it you will have to use cd burning software to put it on cd (like Unlead Movie Studio or Nero.. or chances are that the software that came with your cd burner will do it.. mine came with B Recorder Gold and it will burn standard vcds perfectly.

  3. I understand what you wrote but there is something wrong. When I do as you said and I get to the Project wizard page 1/5 there should be a pull down box that reads "CBR 1150kbps 70min/650MB". When I get to this page mine says "CBR standard format" with no other choices. Also whenI get to page 2/5 and try to open an AVI file it will not let me, an error message comes up saying that it is not supported. Please give me some guidance as to what I should do. Thanks so much for your help.

    that's the right option.
you need to read through the guides on this site a lot more before you ask questions--especially questions like that
