I had trouble doing this two times:

Ok i converted everything i needed, from DivX .avi to .mpq, and played on my Panasonic DVD player...i got the picture perfectly, but no sound at all. I blared my speakers all the way up, and still nothing...
(i used the TMPQE conberter, the brand new version) if that matters

can someone please help me?
