  1. Whenever I try to open a MPEG-2 file, I get the following error:

"File BillWedding.mpg can not open or unsupported"

According to the newbie TMPGENC common problem guide, I need the following to be able to read MPEG-2 files

    PowerDVD Dem0 4+
    TMPGEnc 2.57+

    I have:

    PowerDVD XP which is 4.0.0.1813
    TMPGENC Plus 2.58

I've also tried the MPEG2 plugin for TMPGEnc without any luck. It looks like it's installed OK. It's hard to tell since everything is in Japanese.

If I go into the Envorimental Setting under the VFAPI plug-in tab, I have the following plug-in installed:

    Cyberlink MPEG-2 Decoder
    MPEG-2 Video Plug-in

I've tried increasing their priority but that didn't help either.

    Help!

Try deleteing the mpeg encoder, just keep the Cyberlink mpg2 encoder.
It's probably a problem in windows registry. Is your copy of Tmpeg a registered plus copy?

  3. Try raising the priority of the MPEG-2 VIDEO Plug-In to 1 and set Cyberlink MPEG-2 Decoder to 0, this worked for me.

  4. tim254,

Thanks, setting the priority of the MPEG-2 VIDEO Plug-in higher then Cyberlink one did the trick.
