Hi,

I saw some old postings on this forum about displaying Date & Time of recording on the Video footage. But none of them gave any clear answer.

My DV camcoder displays date & time when I directly connect it to TV. But when I capture the video thru Firewire & Premier, I dont see a way to display the date & time on the captured AVI file.

I did some searching on this and found out a software (http://www.catdv.com) that can read this AVI file and get the record date and time info. But this software seem to have a lot of problems, it keeps crashing. But it proves that the AVI file captured by Premier has the Recorded Date and Time info in it. It is just that none of the Capturing (Premier, VDub, DIVO etc) or Encoding (TMPEG) tools seem to have thought much about this feature.

SHowing date & time is a standard feature on many Video Cameras and Camcoders. So, any good Capturing or Encoding tool should have an option to choose if you want to diaplay the Date & Time or not.

Has anyone come across a Capturing or Encoding tool that has this feature? Or could any one add this feature to the open Source of VDub?

Regards,
VV
