S-VCD subtitles with Mustek DVD-560

Hi.

How can i use subtitles with my Mustek DVD-560? Recently i made a S-VCD with DVD2SVCD including S-VCD Subs. The AV-streams play fine but i cannot see the subs although my player supports 4 selectable subtitle tracks for S-VCD. No problem with DVD-subs of course.
Do i have to use CVD-subs?
Can i also use subtitles for "normal" VCDs (MPEG-1)?

I don't know anything about that particular player, but I would suggest trying CVD subs. They seem to have better compatibility than SVCD subs, apparently because of firmware bugs in many DVD players that cause them to fail if you also have PBC.

VCDs do not support selectable subtitles.
