    Why use a 528x480 resolution,why not 720x480?
    VBV buffer is 40,but 112 is default for SVCD?
    Why the change to VBR_CQ from CQ?

    The visual difference from 720x480 to 528x480 is basically "zero" when viewed on a HDTV, but you can use a higher CQ or CQ_VBR to your advantage, and achieve higher quality per media.

    That's for SVCD. We're talking MPEG-1 here, so stay with the standard
