    Hi all, I have a JVC miniDV camcorder and have Ulead. I hooked up the cam to the computer but Ulead is not recognizing the cam. It says "no capture card or camcorder installed" Does anyone capture from miniDV? Also what format do I need to capture in, MPEG-2? Is that the best one?

    How are you connect your camcorder? With a S-Video cable? If this is the case you to connect your camcorder to a Firewire card.

    Go through the whole check list:

    Is the Firewire card & cable installed properly?
    Does the computer see your camera?
    Latest drivers?
    Do you have the usb plugged in?

    There is alot to check for and you never left much info.
    Windows XP is pretty nice with DV.
