  1. Hello,
    does anyone know good MPEG1 and MPEG2 codecs to utilize with Premiere? Are they freeware?? Where can I dowlnoad them?

    premiere supports mpeg1 out of the box

    as for mpeg2 - depends on your version being used , but mpeg2 true support in premiere is rather not great as far as input goes ..

  3. You can use TMPGEnc (http://www.tmpgenc.net), which is free for a trial basis, but a full license is only $48. You can then frameserve from Premiere, using either the free video server plugin or Avisynth (http://www.videotools.net). Frameserving allows you to go straight from a Premiere project to MPEG without first creating an intermediate AVI file.

    You can find guides for all of this both in this site as well as several other places on the 'net.
