Not sure what I'm missing here. I have downloaded a video clip that says its in AVI format.
When I try to break it down to get audio with Virtudub I get the following message:
    ************************************************** *********
    VirtualDub Error

Coulnd't loctae decompressor for format 'MP43'(Microsofst High Speed MPEG-4 V3)
    ************************************************** *********

As well as this problem if I try to load it into TMPGEnc I get the following message:

    ************************************************** *********
    TMPGEnc

    File: "c:\program files\KaZAA\MY SHARED FOLDER\[TMD]STAR.TREK.NEMISIS.(FTF).TS.(1OF2).AVI" CAN NOT
    OPEN, OR UNSUPPORTED.
    ************************************************** ***********

    I AM CONFUSED!
I can watch these clips in Windows media player, and I always thought that TMPGenc could play *.AVI, so if thats the case what Am I missing.

Thanks in Advance for your help.

  2. a codec, that's what you're missing
Install the nimo codec pack (under TOOLS of this site) and try unpacking the audio in Vdub again
