Constant beep in sound

I am completly new in editing video. But now i have a problem. I've downloaded an avi movie with the corresponding subtitle. When I join them (using virtualdub and TMPGenc)the sound in the output file is less hard en has a constant beep in it (the subtitle is perfect). I've tried a lot to get it out, but I can't seem to manage it. Who can help me in the right direction? Thanx in advance.

I have had a similar experience - a thumping sound at irregular intervals.I was told what may help- demux the file and remux.I am curious if this helped in your case

I've tried it but it didn't work. The problem seems to be that the sound is reduced. I've to put my speakers afterwards that loud, that they a creating a whistle. Maybe other suggestions?
