I am looking for a way to covert some old 8mm, 16mm and super 8 reel to reel film to dvd. (myself - not paying someone to do it) I have done quite a bit of video converion before with my Optibase MoveMaker 200 networker from more mainstream and modern technology; however i'm not sure which method would returns the best results for film..?
i would greatly appreciate any info on equitment to capture these types of film, methodology, software suggestions etc....

Use Ulead 6.
It works great. I have done many 8mm to DVD with it.
Of course you must capture from your projector to a cam first.
