    Does anyone know how to convert an SVCD into 1 working DivX file? I'm talking about big SVCD's such as 3-CD SVCDs and whatnot. I'm having a really hard time converting them over.

  2. ooook, now, the video on an SVCD disk is placed in a DAT file in the folder MPEGAV. Copy that DAT from every disk to your hard disk

    convert all those DATS into MPG's(use vcdgear for that: http://www.vcdgear.com/)

    now you've got 3MPG's... Now we need to put them together, use TMPGEnc for that
    FILE -> MPEG TOOLS
    MERGE & CUT
    -> ADD
    -> Add the 3 MPG's you made.
    Select an output
    -> RUN

    now you're made of your3 SVCD disks, 1 MPG file

    Now in virtualdub.
    Open the big MPG you made in TMPG
    VIDEO -> COMPRESSION -> DIVX MPEG4 FAST MOTION (You need to have the DIVX codec installed... get NIMO CODEC PACK if you dont have it)

    AUDIO-> FULL PROCESSING MODE
    -> COMPRESSION -> MPEG LAYER 3-> 128kBit/s, 44100Hz 16Kb/S
    -> OK
    -> SAVE AS AVI

    it'll take a while to finish, but when its done, you've got an AVI from about 600Mb

    It seems to me that this procedure is all for a regular VCD. The video on an SVCD is stored in the MPEG2 folder and saved as "AVSEQ01.MPG". I copy that over to my computer and multiplex it using TMPGEnc so I have a viewable mpeg2 file. But when I try to merge/convert with the rest of the cds, I have problems. I can never get a working one.

    Any suggestions?
