    Why is it that when i play a dvd the picture on the tv is in black and white? Can anyone help. My dvd player is a sony DAV-S550

    otherwise how you like the 550? i want to try out a 990

    Thanks for your help. The problem was that the dvd was a ntsc while my tv only reads pal. Thanks again. This is my first dvd player > I have just bought it last week. I find it good.
