HOW TO CONVERT DIVX TO DVD

ok so i got a dvd+rw and i want to put my divx moives on there first of all can i just make my divx movies into a vcd and then burn them onto my dvds? i would really like to do that so i can put more on a dvd but if i can't then i would like to just be able to convert it so i an put my movies on a dvd. i tried it once and it didn't work on my dvd player i think i did it wrong please help.

i recently bought the Pioneer DVR-A05...
it has Sonic MyDVD shipped with it...
but it has only options for chapters creation...
i got my DivX CDs and i suceeded to extract the audio with GraphEdit...
also the video with TMPGenc and the extracted WAV...
now i got a trouble ...
the DivX has several subtitles...
how can i record the subtitles on the DVD?
what kind of software do i need for recording the subtitles?
i know how to convert them from SSA,SUB and all those things...
i know how to create VCD with subtitles, but...
this seems to be something different...
i guess the subtitles are separate in the DVD like at the DivX...
is there any software that i can use to insert my subtitles?
any tutorial for recording the subtitles with the converted DivX?

i still have troubles with the subtitles and all the guides are concentrated on the movie and the audio
