    I have extracted wav from avi file with virtualdub and i cannot load this wav/edit in any wav editing software!
    any other software can extract wav from avi?

    If "Direct Stream Copy" was activated in the Audio menu of VDub, you don't get WAV but MP3 or whatever codec is used in your AVI. Choose "Full Processing Mode" and set compresion to "No Compression(PCM)" before saving to WAV.

    thanks for the reply...well its AC3 sound and it wont let me do it your way....

    Try this VDub version, it can extract AC3 sound in Direct Stream Copy mode. You can convert the AC3 file to WAV with Azid (I think you have to to use Ac3Fix first because VDub always writes a WAV header).
