Hi ! This is my first post, and i am a newbee at this, so go easy on me ok!
    I have a p3 500, and a avermedia tv-card98 (with remote)
and i have conected a philips dvd 751 to the card, and i am using virtualdub and divx codecs, but my prob is to much frame drops when i capture from a dvd, and if i have the audio on the cd quality, then the hole movie will hack, so if anyone could tell me how to make lesser framedrops and get better audio without loss of quality pls help me

  2. loveo Zilwer,

I use a 500mhz P3 to capture MPEG4 (DivX) real time with no appreciable dropped frames (about 1 every 30 seconds or so). What resolution are you capturing in? You will only be able to capture 320x240 using the DivX codec in real time and that is assuming you are using the 3.11 DivX codec. If you are using the newer 4.x version, it is currently slower and I don't know if you can even capture 320x240 with it on a 500mhz machine.

If you have a desire to capture at a higher resolution, then capture using the Huffy CODEC and then re-encode to DivX using something like VirtualDub.
