  1. Ok this might take some time explaining, but what i'm trying to achieve is.

I want to burn some mp3's to a cd, along with whatever 'software' if it exists, to a regular 74/80min cd-r and pop it into my standalone dvd player.

Hopefully by doing this when playing the mp3 files it'll come up with visualisations as the songs are played. Creating an mp3 music video cd, the option of making a regular music vcd doesn't appeal as i could only put 10 or so songs to it.. don't want to be constantly changing. Which is possible through Magic Music Video Maker 6.

Can this be done? what would i have to burn in addition to the mp3's to achieve this? I know the dvd's are like winamp and you can simply run a plugin or can I?

  2. I've read that like three times and am still not sure what it is that you want to achieve.

Why is it that you want to burn 'whatever software' to the mp3 cd?

I think I sorta get the part about creating an mp3 VCD (I think), but not sure what you mean by 'a regular music VCD'.

VCD audio tracks are Mpeg1-layer2 compressed at 224Kbit/sec so I don't see how you figure you would gain much by using mp3 - the video takes up about 9 tenths of the space on a VCD.

"I know the dvd's are like winamp and you can simply run a plugin or can I?"
    What?

  3. sorry for not being clear enough, umm basically i want to play mp3's through the standalone dvd, but have some visuals there while its playing.

but i don't want to burn mpeg to the cd or photos, because that wouldn't go to every song. I want it to be something along the lines of a winamp plugin.

No, a DVD player can't do that.

  5. You would need to create MPEGs for the songs - there is no plugin to make your standalone do visualizations (nice feature but you're dreaming).

You can do some screencaps of winamp or WMP visualizations, make them MPEG, then put them to your music & burn a standard disk. Not what you wanted to do but will get you the results you want.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
