i have a series of vcds on my hardrive that i captured from various means and converted to vcd using tmpgenc. i burned those to cd and watched them and i liked it.
i now have a large set of vcds and now that i am learned (somewhat) in the art of editing i, i got the idea of getting these into some semblance of order. i wish to edit the clips , join, transition, title and author to a cd to compile a collection .
no editing programs i own will edit the vcd footage! premiere wont play the video and frequently crashes! moviemaker also will not edit the vcd files either, and my best hope was ulead videostudio- to no avail. just adding a title in videostudio will send it out of sync!!
am i stuck with just what i got? converting these to an avi would only worsen the image, true?

you can cut, trim, snip, join mpeg1/2 files with M2Edit. Good luck with adding transitions, titles and the like... I donlt know any programs that will do that with mpeg files.
come to think of it I think someone mentioned to me that the new Premiere can now accept mpeg files as input, don't take my word for it but look into it.
