  1. A friend of my ownes the same dvr-105 as me, only he downgraded his.
He can rip dvd's at 8x and I only at 2x speed. Is this because of the firmware or am I doing something wrong? I'm using an ata-100 cable with adaptec's newest aspi drivers and dvddecrypter.

  9. I ripped a movie at 8x, and I thought nice, thought it would be locked at 2x, and then I ripped another movie at only 2x.
turns out the first movie wasn't copy protected, so if it's copy protected it locks the speed at 2x.

    have u experienced that same?
