  1. I have tried and tried!

I just cant get my movies to work on a burned dvd!

i have downloaded a divx from a friend ;resampled it into pal (that
    wasnt nessesary by the way).

I made the video_ts and the audio_ts , and it all worked perfectly on the computer!
using these programs : tmpgence, virtualdub (for the sound)
    ac3headace, dvdmaestro, begeez m.m.

Everything worked perfectly, i have even tried to make two movies,
the first one started to bug after one hour (after burned, on the computer it works fine((before burning offcourse, on the hardrive)), the next one after 20 minutes (works perfectly on the computer to), ive tried them in contless of dvd-players, all the same!
tried different burning tools (nero and dvd decrypt).

Sorry all the misspelling, im MAD!!!!!

p.s. one empthy dvd-r costed me like 10 dollars or so! so its very frustrating not to be able to get it to work, and toss money out of the window! (ordered them from a cheaper place now, 30 for 100 dollars).

but i would be happy as a fidle if someone had the same problems as me, and fixed them!

  2. loyd,

First off, invest in some DVD-RWs
Second, DVDs require MPEG-2 and authoring
Third, list exactly the steps you are going so someone can help.

I used to have the same problem you are having this is what I do to burn DVD's Correctly. In DVD Maestro after compliling the dvd I create an image. I then mount the image in Daemon tools. I then use Nero to do a DVD copy from the Mounted Image to my dvd drive... works everytime.

  4. Step by step :

*first i use tmpgenc on the divx (23.976)
i have tried making it ntsc and making it pal, last time pal.
used the "do not sample rate" or somthing in tmpgenc (read it from the guides) . 3000 kbs/s or wathever.
demuxes the sound (or not, tried both)

then i use begeez on the sound, making it from 23.976 to 25 (ac3)
i also use ac3headace for making mp2- sound.

i then use dvddaemon, creating chapters and such, making a directory with the video_ts and audio_Ts. (no spesial finesse there).

i then test the whole product in windvd, works fine every time, testing chapters and sound.

then its a bit blur, first time i used the guide on nero (just copying the vobs) worked for one hour. (everything is perfect untill it starts to jump and then the disc doesnt got read at all).

second time (after hours of reading and trying) i made a image with
imgtool95, then burned it with the same program, worked fine (Started fine , sound perfect, chapters perfect) and then it started to bug after 20 minutes, same problem!

thanks for the response, but i must find out what exactly does it so that i can keep away from it in the future.
and yes, i should buy myself an "rw" , but that costs like 40 dollars or so.
so i havent been prioritying it yet

    its two different movies.

    what can it be?????

NYplayer : i should try that then, but why does exactly that work?
    thanks for the repost!

  5. Even though the thread below uses SVCD as an example I use it for VCD and DVD also. Nero has never been too good in burning VIDEO_TS files in my experiences. So I now only burn any type of VCD SVCD or DVD using the method described in the thread below.

  6. Loyd,

Don't know where you live, but $40 for a -RW is a bit much. Here in the states we can get them retail for about $4. :P
I assume that you are using tmpgenc to convert to MPEG2 and not just re encoding at a different bit rate in divx.
Hum, plays ok on your PC but "bugs out" on a DVD player after 20 or so minutes. That's a strange one. Could be your DVD media! What burner and media are you using? How many GB's are you trying to burn? Hopefully one of your answers will key someone into your problem(s)

  7. vel! for someone still listening, im using a pioneer 4x dvd-rw,
the file is 4 gigabyte, and offcourse i am making an mpeg-2

Well, i have now tried the image thingie you said to me nyeplayer
and it was an good idea! not becouse it worked now, but becouse it didnt work, at the same place, the same error as on the dvd-standalone!

so the problem must lie after the movie creating file/sound thingie (since it works on my dvd-standalone an all that, but the problem lies probarbly in the fileset or system of the dvd? probably me not using dvddaemon right, so im going to use ifoedit to try, but no chapters now!

am i totaly off now? or? what to doo now!! atleast i dont have to use all my money making dvds that dont work, and i actually learn alot in the prosess!

    help me..........

  9. loyd, where are you from... I still can't get over $40 for RW disk... and $10 for -R. Only explanation is that you don't live in US and I am just curious where do people have to pay so much...

  13. Try this

    http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/

    or

    http://www.meritline.com/

You can get DVD-R as low as $0.58 each if you buy bulk and CD-R ? I buy them in stores when they have som sale going on. So they are almost free... last one was 50pck for $2.99 after MIR (Mail In Rebate).
