I have read A LOT of guides and in the forum but still I donīt understand.
Can someone help me with this.
I have some DivX movies and one Xvid movie and are wondering which settings I should use. Please tell so much you can.I want to burn them in xvcd.

I live in Sweden and the movies are in NTSC(23.976).

    1) Which aspect ratio should I have, can I just set it to 1:1 (VGA) or do I have to change something?
Here is a what it says if I open a movie in the video source:
    MPEG-1 640x352 30fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 192kbps
But when I open it in Virtual Dub it says that the fps is 23.976

    2) Can I just use the wizard and load up a movie and audio source and then donīt changing any settings, just encoding it to mpg so I can later burn it so I can see it in my DVD. I live in Sweden.

  2. I would always trust VirtualDub rather than TMpegEnc.
For me an aspect ratio of 4:3 always works. The width of the MPEG video then is 480, the height is (source-height/source-width)*640. If you happen to have a PAL encoded video, you have to multiply this height with 1.2 (i.e. 576/480). Normaly you don't get an even number, so just round.
Don't forget to use pulldown on the encoded (23.976 fps) MPEG video, or else Nero (or whatever burn program you use) will complain about a non-compliant file.
I have no experience with the TMpegEnc wizard, but I like it a lot more if I can make all the settings on my own.
