    hello,
I am new to dvd authoring and this forum so i am sorry if its been posted before.
I want to make a dvd with menus, but i want to use lots of mpegs. I tried to do this, but ran into problems. When i authored it the mpegs could only be added as chpters and not scenes, so on my dvd player the numbers will not work, i.e. press 5 to get to track 5, etc.
What i want is lots of small mpegs, and go to the one you like through the menu's and using numbers on the keypad...i an guessing that they must be scenes and NOT Chapters, but i cant seem to do this.
I tried using ulead workshop and ulead movie factory. My files are all converted, ready and witing too so thats no problem.
Does it mean i have to 'stick' all the mpegs together, then cut them up in movie factory as scenes?? is there not an easier/quicker way?

Thanks for your help in advance

how do you create "true chapters"? the help guides on the site says: "Note! This chapters are not true chapters where you can use the skipforward and skipbackward buttons on your remote while watching, this chapters are only selectable from the menu."
So how can you create true chapters using one of the ulead tools? i have searched the site and forums with no luck
    plz help

  3. You cannot use the numbers on the remote to select chapters on DVD's this only works for VCD's and SVCD and their variants. To select chapters on a DVD you need to create a menu and highlight the chapter you want using the cursor keys then press the enter button.

  4. Look at VCDEasy software. It will do alot of the chaptering for you. Burn it on CD-RW first so that you don't create coasters and play with the settings...especially with the "interactivity" tab. The best part about it is that its free!

isnt that for just making vcds? (if not they really should change the name )
I cant burn to a cdr, as i want to use 30+ mpegs which will be too big for a cd.

  6. FreeFall,
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 will do what you want. Each seperate MPEG file will create a thumbnail on the Main Menu. If you want chapters for each mpeg, DMF2 will create a submenu off of the main menu for chapters.

I made a one like this, however, the highliting did not seem to work, so i did not know where the arrows were pointing to. And also, after the video finished, it would go back to the menu instead of playing the next video.

If you right click on the vide in workshop it gives the option to play the next video or return to the menu
