  1. Hey guys,

I was wondering if the DVD bitrate spec was 8000? Tmpgenc sets this as a max in the template, however the vcdhelp birate calculator sets a highter bitrate at like 8800. Also some program above 8000 keep saying the stream is too greate (Over the DVD spec) at some parts if the movie is above 8000. Maybe Im wrong. Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

  2. It will depend on your audio. PCM audio requires (I think...) 1600kbps. AC3 audio can use as little as 128kbps. If you're using PCM audio, your video bitrate will have to be lower....

You should be able to find the exact specs on this site or at the DVDForum website....

    Cheers,

  3. If you look on the net they say the max bitrate (audio + video) is about 9800 kbs so unless your audio is super hifi it should be ok to be around 8800 but DVD players vary and it might not like bit rates near the max. 8000 is prety common.

If you'd like to set different encoding try variable bitrate. If the bit rate is set then load the DVD template then go to the extra folder & load the unlock template on top of the DVD template. Now you can change the settings at will.
