  1. what is the reason an avi can be played in media player, but after i split off the audio with virtualdub as a wave nothing will recognize the wave. i have tried many different programs. i did notice that the audio must still be compressed as it is quite small, 60 megs

  2. If you are using Windows Media Player, go to >
    Tools > Option > Formats > Select All.

    If you are splitting the Audio and Video to use during an Encoding process, the Wav should be uncompressed ,so...
    Virtualdub > Open Movie > Audio > Compression > Full Processing > Audio > Compression > No Compression > Audio > Conversion > 44100 for VCD and 48000 for SVCD.
