i got the cce2.5( demo) and it wont load anything. i reinstalled it and nothing. it says" avs(or avi) is not a ECL for cinema craft encoder" i created the avs file as instructed in a tutorial and the avi file with Vfapi as instructed
I am using
Smart ripper
dvd2avi
avisynth
pulldown
bitrate viewer
Vfapi
tried using Vfapi also to create an avi for use in CCE. When I open the avi file(with "Add" function" CCE just closes.
any thoughts as to why CCe wont open my files? i am following instructions to make a compliant file. Do i need more codecs loaded or what?

Never use file/open to load media files. That is only for .ECL project files.
Do you maybe have an AMD CPU? If so then you have to have audio in your file otherwise CCE will crash. Simply add this line to your AVS script
ResampleAudio(44100)
Make sure that avisynth is installed correctly also. Open the AVS in media player. If it doesnt play or just shows a message then avisynth is either installed wrong or there is something wrong with your avs script.
I'm not sure how you get around the audio bug if you use vfapi converter, so just try using avisynth, its much better anyway.
There is a very good CCE FAQ hosted in Doom9.net's forums. If you read this and the CCE manual than you will have no problems. -
I run CCE on an AMD XP1600,and it has never crashed. Converting from .d2v file run thru Vfapi Converter.
