hi!
perhaps anyone around can help me:
i capture tv-shows with virtualdub in divx 5.02.
then i get a big avi-file (1-10GB).
then i make a vcd of this file with tmpg (version 2.58.44.152) and cut out advertising with the source range.
normally everything works ok...
..but in the last time sometimes i get error:
i just got an error "write error occured at address 00401CA6 of module "TMPGEnc.exe" with 1DCA1DFC" when trying to cut a part of the video. i tried it again - the same error.
sometimes the preview-picture also freezes at some scenes (always at the same scenes!)...
thank you for your help!
with greetings from germany

Try scanning your video for defective frames using Virtual Dub. If there are bad frames, just save as avi with Virtual Dub. The prog will automatically cut out the bad frames. Then try converting the new avi to vcd again.
If that doesn't work, try cutting the avi with Virtual Dub to cut the commercials. Then convert these to mpg and join them with TMPGenc

thx for your fast reply!
i will check for defective frames...
(but: the divx-avi-movie plays just fine with windows media player)
another question: if i cut with virtualdub, the first cut for the beginning of the movie always is set at a keyframe by virtualdub - even if i want it someotherwhere. the cut for the end works correct...
know an answer?
special thanks!
