  1. hi, i have nero 5.5.3.5, and whenever i burn a vcd it comes out in 1.1 format. how do i burn a 2.0 format? cause my dvd player reads 2.0 way better/faster than 1.1, and sometimes doesn't read 1.1 at all. can someone please tell me how to burn a vcd 2.0 with nero? thanx in advance,

Version 5.5.3.5. of Nero burns as standard VCD 2.0. Why do you think it's burning it in VCD 1.1 standard?

  3. because when i put it in my dvd player and it loads it says vcd 1.1 loaded.

Well there are only 2 possibilities - either your standalone DVD player or Nero is wrong.

I would suggest you create an image file with VCDImagerGUI (you can download it in the tools section of this website) and create a *.cue/*.bin file after selecting VCD2.0 and then burning it via Nero. If this still doesn't work I would suggest checking your DVD Player thoroughly.

I find it highly unlikely that your DVD player will only play VCD2.0 and not VCD1.1 as all VCD players are backward compatible.

  5. hey, i've used vcdimager and it won't make a 2.0 vcd, it is 1.1. the 1.1 works on my dvd player, but it takes 2 minutes to load, then 5 min to start to play, then it stops, then plays for 2 sec, then stops for 5 min, etc. could it be cause i'm using a cdrw? i'll try with a cdr. i know that the dvd player works, cause when i had a burner that worked with ezcdcreator 5 platnium, i burned shaft and it works great, but now i have a plextor 16/10/40a and for some reason it won't work with ezcdcreator 5 platnium, anyone know why or how to fix it? i've tried getting drivers and just about everything else. i have ez cd creator 4 and it works fine with my burner. any ideas? thanx,

  6. I had a similar problem I believe...the cd-rs I was using were of very low quality and they were not read correctly by my dvd player (VCD 1.0 instead of 2.0). Also, I couldnt seem to load SVCD either unless I used --brokensvcd in vcdimager with those cheap disks. Your best bet is to just try different media.

I agree totally with what Psx mentioned. Try using different media, preferably the one you burnt "shaft" on. Best to checkout the DVD player compatibility list on this website and see the recommendations for your type of player.

  8. ok, thanx. the funny thing is the brand that did work is the cheapest brand ever, and i'd never even heard of the brand before, but also i found when i use them to burn regular CDs, they play on my dvd player whereas my dvd player won't play any other cdr CD's i've burned, so it must be a good brand after all. unfortunately i moved, and left them where i used to live, but hopefully i can get them.
