I've got an MPEG-2 file (SVCD) which is about 2.5gigs and I want to cut it down to fit on 3CD's (80mins). Where do I start? I've got TMPGEnc and VDub.
Thanks in advance!![]()

You would use TMPGEnc for MPEG-2 cutting. Also, why is your SVCD coming out to 2.5 Gigs?
Hope That Helps!!!:P

Because it was two DivX files, which both came out at over 1gig each when I converted them to SVCD. I joined them both together, leaving me with a large file. Problem is, if I cut them they are going to have to be put onto four CDs because the file is so big.
I only really want to put them on 3! -
If it's 2.5GB 3 80-minute CDs just isn't enough space. You can either cut out content (credits, introduction, a scene you don't like), or reencode at a lower bitrate.
I'd also suggest bbmpeg for SVCD cutting, it's a little more work because you have to demux the MPG but most people agree that it does a better job. -
ben.franklin, you could also buy some 90/99 minute CD-R's and divide your 2.5 Gig SVCD over 3 90/99 minute CD-R's.
Hope That Helps!!!:P
