  1. I have two cd's containing a divx movie both under 700 mb

they play fine in divx player

I wanted to convert to dvd(one if possible)

so, I ran TMPGenc and converted the first cd to dvd(mpeg2)
the runtime after the conversion is 3 hours though the actual movie is
1hr and 15 minutes. totally confused it will just sit there and run till the 3 hours is up with no sound

    Skinny,

Can I convert and merge both cd's together to make one dvd?
And what can I do about the no sound problem?
And is it normal to go from 700 mb to 3.5 gb when I run TMPGenc to encode? Otherwise I would need two dvd's for this conversion?
    Is this the norm?

    Thanks. Mike

  2. I think you need to start reading some of the guides and other info this site has to offer. If you look over to the left column under HOWTO you will see a convert section. In there you will find several guides on converting divx to various mpeg formats. If you look a little harder you will also find information on how to handle 'missing' audio like you described plus loads of other useful info.

If you try any of the guides you find and still have problems the do come back and ask specific questions with as much detail as to what you are trying to do and where things have gone wrong as you can.

  3. well if i was you i would rent the dvd and encode it that way since you are trying to do that anyways. plus the quality will come out better. you said the movie is only 75 minutes so you will prob be able to copy it with out encoding........

  5. Yes you should use the guides to convert. Basically you should separate the audio out to WAV with Virtualdub then encode the video with the WAV file you extracted.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
