Ok, I am running Win XP Pro. This is the problem, my computer will auto play SVCD directly from the CD-ROM without a problem. I can play VCD files that have been copied onto the HD and renamed from .dat to .mpeg. The computer refuses to autoplay VCD's from the CD-ROM or play the .dat files that I manually select from the CD. I have tried updating to Win Media Player v.9, I have tried using PowerDVD, I have tried using WinDVD, I have tried downloading the ASPI driver or whatever it was called. I have looked through forum topics here also and didnt find anything useful. Oh and the VCD is a working one. I have tried 2 different movies now that I know work on a stand alone DVD player so the problem isn't with the discs. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks
