I have been using Gordian Knot to backup my DVD's... but they never come out at my desired filesize. A favorite number seems to be 850 megs :P, but would like to fit a rip onto one CD. I see files on filesharing aps that come out to be 714 megs every time... how to?
I have been using Divx 5.0.2, by the way.
I am running the latest versions.
Also when I use Smartripper I can rip at a maximum of 2x with occasional bursts (especially at the beginning) of up to 16x. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe

If you do 2 pass encoding, and you don't screw anything up, 95% of the time, every CD will come up to a nice and even 700meg (717mbit). Oh, I'm using 5.02 Pro with B frames only.

I have been doing 2 pass encoding... but I have had one rip at 600 megs, and several at 800 when I am shooting for 700. I have a feeling that it has to do with the resolution I select. What should I shoot for?
Thanks,
Joe
