  1. I have been using various guides on backing up movies that don't need reencoding. My question mainly pertains to DVD-9's where the DVD is well over 4.37 GB'S, but the main movie itself will fit on a DVD-R. The question is that all the guides I have from DOOM9, say I need to back up the entire "contents" of the DVD. By saying entire "contents", that seems to imply, everything on the DVD. I just don't understand when DVDDECRYPTOR selects the main movie set of vobs automatically, why I couldn't rip those, as well as the corresponding VIDEO_TS, .BUP, and .IFO files with it...as opposed to 3 or 4 GB'S or additional extras which takes longer to rip. Can anyone tell me if I can just rip the main movie as well as the corresponding files, or do I actually need to rip the entire DVD or the entire DVD "CONTENTS". Thanks in advance

  2. If you just want to backup the main movie just rip the main movie but make sure you get VTS Sectors in ifoedit

  3. ANSWER IS: NO

    Just rip the main movies files + ifo/bup + video_ts ifo/bup
    video_ts.vob really isnt needed

use ifoedit 095, cause it creates movie in vts_01_1.vob
if it isnt, you better make sure u do it...
strip audio or something just so it goes to the number 1
check create new movie files so it overwrites ur video_ts ifo/bup's
always get vts sectors when finished with above...

it will just auto-play movie,no warnings, no trailers, no crap...

  4. thanks Mr. Blond and Musher. That's all I needed to know! I almost NEVER keep any trailers or menus. I have never been into the menu/trailers deal on ANY DVD. I just like watching the entire movie in DVD quality..period. I was pretty sure the VIDEO_TS file wasn't needed because IFOEdit usually doesn't make that file from what i've seen. Thanks for the info.

  5. I just got tired of making coasters, some would work
some not, but without menu's, all play in all my players,
ifoedit088 a little easier to work with, so go with what
you know, most guides use older versions anyway...
post ur results for others, tnx
