I am looking around for options for upgrading my authoring program from Sonic MyDVD, which came with my Pioneer A05.
From reading various reviews here, it appears that DVD Workshop offers a reasonable bang for the buck.
I see that for about US$100 I can buy and ADS Pyro ProDVD, which comes bundled with DVD Workshop SE. From the Ulead site http://www.ulead.com/dws/compare3.htm, the differences between the full and SE version appear to be the following:
- limitations on the number of images/slideshow and slideshows/title
- maximum of 20 chapter points/video clip
- fewer text effects
- maximum of 5 seconds for duration of motion menus
- can't customize highlight color of buttons
- fewer samples
- mpeg audio as only audio output format
Aside from the 5 second limitation for motion menus, I don't particularly care about these reduced features, and I can live with short motion menus for the sake of saving about $200 off the list price of the full version.
Are there any other limitations or problems with the SE version that I should know about?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Eric J
