  1. Hi folks!
I am very new in video capturing and I need a piece of advice.
Having come to USA from Israel, I brought with me few video tapes recorded in PAL/Secam. To create VCD from them I need a capturing card that can read both PAL/Secam and NTSC, because my multisystem VCR does not convert formates.

    So, my questions are:
    1. Do multisystem capturing cards really exist, and if yes, where can I get one living in USA?

    2. If not, how can I get PAL/Secam card living in USA?

    3. What card could you recommend?
My mashine has Pentium 4, 1.5GGz processor with 512 MB memory and 20 GB disc space (I am planning to expand it if necessary).

I would appreciate if you reply me here or by mail coonny@yandex.ru
    Thanks a lot.

Let me start off by answering couple of your bullet points

Best place would be EBay, that is where i got my ATI 128Pro PAL version for about $60

    1. What card could you recommend
As a suggestion look at the Capture Cards section here at the VCDhelp.com

Other comment i want to make, i have not done this yet but this may work for you, if you get a PAL card on your PC & capture your video on your PC, convert it over to VCD NTSC Mpeg, then record it on a CD & it should work.

Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler.
