I originally posted this in the newbie forum, but I think this is also a more appropriate board to post in:

I ripped my own DVD->SVCD and now I'm trying to cut part 1 of the files into 2 separate parts with TMPGEnc. I've already split up the first half of the file into a file small enough to write to a CD-R, but for some reason when I try and split up the second half, it cannot read the end of the source file for some reason. When creating video stream, as soon as it nears the end of 2100 seconds, TMPGEnc all of a sudden says "Seeking moviename.mpg". I vividly remember when ripping it originally that TMPGEnc for some reason shut down when it hit 99% progress. But by then the mpg was good enough for me to watch and move on to the next file anyway (because there was only a split secon loss of time) that I just left it as it was since I didn't want to sit through another 14-hour overnight rip in order to get the last 2 seconds or so. But now that I want to split up the files, I cannot cut the file all the way to the end of the source file. I have tried cutting from half way up to a full second before the cut-off point, but the same thing happens (Seeking moviename.mpg).

Now in my haste to toy around with things (newbie that I am), I got out of the cutting screen and click on "correct" to see if that would help things. Now when I try to cut the file at any starting point, and even if it's only for a small 1-minute sample file, the cutting screen goes straight to "Seeking moviename.mpg". It doesn't even try to create a video stream any more

Can my files be saved? Or will I have to stick with leaving the 1.4gb file on my computer for a while?
