  1. I have an avi file, here are the details:

    Average data rate: 24.00
    sample rate: 48 khz
    audio channels : 2

    frame width : 608 pixels
    frame height: 256 pixels
    frame rate : 23.976 frames/sec

    compression : XVID

I tried using tmpenc to encode to dvd ntsc mpeg2, but the video was slightly stretched VERTICALLY. Just a bit. The movie seems to be 16:9, so what settings should I use in TMPEnc?

    Here is what I tried:

    from the "video" options:

    Frame size: 608 x 256
    Aspect ratio : 1:1 VGA
    I chose 23.976 frames/sec and the 3:2 pulldown thing.

    From "Advanced" I had:

    Source aspect ratio: 1:1VGA
    Full screen(keep aspect ratio 2)

What settings should I have used?

Thanks for any help. I want to preserve the 16:9 aspect ratio

p.s. I would prefer the mpeg2 to be in PAL, can I do this, and what are the settings?

    Thanks

Under the Video Tab next to Aspect ratio, set it to 4:3 or 16:9 depending on your T.V, and under the Advanced Tab next to Source aspect ratio, set it to 1:1 (VGA) as DivX is always 1:1 (VGA) for the Source aspect ratio. You can do whatever you want to the other Tabs and settings. 8)

    Hope That Helps!!! :P
