hi i am trying to convert avi downloads with tmpeg but get an error when trying to load video and audio i get a message atating that the format cant be oprned i have tried to downloag ver3 codec but it is not there any advice as to where i can find a down load or other plugin would be helpful

you need to follow this guide and follow this little part

Open your video.
Note 1! If your source is DivX,ASF or SMR it is best to extract the audio separate to a wav with virtualdub because the audio source is often in vbr format which tmpgenc can not handle that well(causes sync problems). But if you are converting from dv,huffyuv,mjpeg,avi with ac3 you can leave the audio same as the video.

i down load avi files/films and when trying to open with tmpeg igettheusual errormessages but i have downloaded the nimo codec file and still probs how hard can it be to just be able to open or convert a file format if i dont get this sorted i am going to have a brek doooowwwwnnn my self , by the way i checked the properties of the downloaded files and they say mpeg3 if that is any help

[img] :lol: i have sorted out my error on opening avi,s i had downloaded nimo lite which was suposed to open the files idownloaded divx 5 and hay presto it works the downloads can be found on this web site via the tmpeg info thanks
ps ther arent mpeg3,s just mpeg layer3,s as i have found out[/img] :lol:
