    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has tried LSX-MPEG Encoder?

If so how well does it work? Is it fast?

    Thanks in advance.

it is very fast and produces ok results , sometimes very good and sometimes not .. the ligos go motion encoding is encorporated into a lot of programs , including some very high end ones .. a lot depends on the source material ..

i would rate main concept a little better at this point , but things can change ...

    it is fast though ...

Are the results as good as TMPGEnc?
    As easy to use?

well -- how much do you want to pay .. TMPGenc is the price performance leader by far .... in fact it is so cheap for what it does it is nutz .. even if you only use to "make project" or use its mpeg tools or such - it is worth it ..

newest version of tmpgenc is a lot faster - if you have big p4 or dual xeon system only ..

Cinema Craft Encoder is faster , but is $1995 USD though ... produces stunning quality - with practise.

I think a good encoder also is the Main Concept encoder which is also found in Adobe Premiere 6.5 -- lots of features, very good output , and very fast - faster than CCE in some cases. But doesnt have multipass VBR untill next version .. though single pass VBR it does is great , it also can do CQ . it is very well priced ..

I got it bundled with ulead mediastudio 6.5. I can not see any quality difference when making vcds from tmpgenc. Seems good to me although I have not done too much with it.

  8. you might want to have a look at the comparisons page on this site - LSX, CCE, TMPGEnc etc.. are all compared for VCD and SVCD encoding, in terms of speed, quality etc..

    cheers,

    mcdruid.
