  3. $0.20 for 32x CDR that will burn completely on a 16x (hardly the fastest CD burner) in 7 minutes
How many hours of encoding did you have to leave the
computer on for that? -Electricity is not free.

And alot of times you use 2 disc, so now we are talking about 14minutes.

Canadians?, don't you have friends in the states that can mail it to
you as a "gift" to avoid the duty and taxes?

Or next time you come south for a vacation, go shopping.

Electricity is not free? That really grasping at straws there...
if you were serious.... Encoding from a DL DVD to fit on a DVD-R actually takes longer to encode... So more "electricity" being used then...

And no, i dont.. If something is deemed to be VCD'ed, its going on one CD.

  5. DL DVD to fit on a DVD-R
60% of time, the movie part is under 4.37Gb
    so no re-encoding in needed.

Just ifoedit and some audio stripping, though you Canadians
probably want to keep the French audio

  6. My unbreakable .d2v is 146 min. I am going to encode with the kvcd LBR template. What settings should I use? My last test with the LBR was 1G in size. Help me out. Thanx.

  8. I think you are the loser.

I have put in 500 post in 4 months
and 90% of them is about helping people.

    My point is:

To get DVDR-drives cheaper, people need to buy them so they can
    be mass produced.

If they are to expensive in your country (Canada), get resourceful
and try anything that is legal to get them from USA instead.

If a person backs-up a movie on CDR instead of a DVDR
though he have access to both type of drives.
Just so he can save $1.50 does not make much sense to me.

You need to stimulate the economy.
