  1. I have ati aiw 32mb 128pro card and need to edit video from vhs cassettes. pl suggest me what is the best & the fastest way to make a final movie in vcd. my method of capturing is to record full video through ati digital vcr in avi, then editing using ati video editor, then taking these clips to ati video studio for joining, titling, music addition and then rendering(finishing),but rendering is very slow. (frame rate, file type all are consistent in input & output).another method of capturing into mpeg1 and then using tmpgenc for cutting is having editing problems for me. i have p3,866mhz,128mb,20gb system. your advice will be very much welcome. thanks

  2. Try this (Though Im *NOT* and ATI fan..), capture your clips, edit them as you wish with the VCR CODEC intact. Then use TMPGEnc with VCD template and batch all your AVIs to MPEGs.

Using Nero (Or Adaptec), drag and drop your MPEGs into the VCD layout in order which they shall play. Edit the properties, I think a default of 5 seconds of pause is placed between MPEGS, set them to zero and burn your VCD. Your result *should* be a seamless playback of video! This is of course, assuming that the settop DVD player is of "middle of the road" quality and not "junk".

That should save you mega time in the re-processing after editing, etc.. etc.. etc..

  3. Just tried what I suggested, there is a pause between videos, I think where the DVD player is searching for the next video. Not seamless like a DVD disk is, sorry.
