  1. How can I burn directly into dvd burner (sony) from Analog camcorder.
I have my DVD software and a Dazzle hardware for mpeg2, but it does not recognize to capture directly into a DVD burner.

  3. There is no such thing as burning directly from an analog camcorder to DVD. (Unless you use a stand alone DVD recorder)
Since you already have the hardware capture into MPEG-2, you are already ways ahead of many other folks (in term of speed only).
Just use one of the DVD authoring/burning tools to author and burn that MPEG-2 file on DVD-R and bingo you just made a DVD.

  4. I believ that I was reading something somewhere that one DVD Authoring software can do everything in some kind of "directly to DVD". I think it was in PC World on the web. Sorry.. that is all that I remember.

Not sure if this is it....

Its Direct-to-Disc feature speeds video transfers to your hard drive by skipping the authoring process: Your video is captured on your hard drive, but no interim image file is created, and you don't have to intervene after you start it running. Sonic MyDVD 3.1 also utilizes the OpenDVD standard. A free 3.5 upgrade (which should be available by the time you read this) is expected to permit users to edit menus and content directly on a rewritable-DVD disc, saving the considerable time it now takes to import them.

  5. I visit the Sonic MyDVD web site and this is what I found in the feature list.

"Use the Direct-to-DVD wizard to transfer video from your tape to a DVD or VCD. "

There is no mention of speedy transfer. I believed it meant to simplify human intervention in the process of putting home movie on DVD. So it looks very much like Studio 8.

    I found another one:
"How does MyDVD differ from other DVD authoring applications?
    - It is the first DVD recording product. That is, it allows you to record directly from video, in real time, direct to a DVD or VCD."

That's unbelievable. I just got my Pioneer 105 with MyDVD software. I will have to try that this weekend. Will update this post with results.

    Don't forget,

Unless something has recently changed, MYDVD uses PCM audio, so will only get 60 minutes on a full disc.
