    Also, why SVCD over VCD?

    If by best to worst you are talking highest resolution to lowest resolution, or highest video bitrate to lowest video bitrate than your list is correct. If you are talking record time on a disk that it may go DVD-VCD-SVCD. That also answers your question why SVCD over VCD, SVCD has approx 2.72 times the resolution of VCD and just over twice the video bitrate.

    Yes, that was what I asked.

    Thank you.

    So if SVCD is better than VCD and I was not concerned with burn time I should do SVCD.
