  1. Hi-

In the last week I've burned two movies (Bond and Potter if you care) to SVCDs. They were downloaded in .bin/.cue format and I burned them using Nero (v.5.5.9).

Bond plays fine in my dvd player (Apex AD1200). Potter plays perfect on my pc using WinDVD, but won't play at all in the standalone. It loads, the player recognizes that it's an SVCD, I hear 3 seconds of audio, no video, and then it just stops.

Any idea as to why these discs won't play on my dvd player, but will play fine in WinDVD? I also tried to convert the .bin/.cue files for Potter to an mpeg using VCDGear, and it said it couldn't locate the video stream (or something like that).

Please help me figure out what to do so I can watch Potter on my Apex.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Careful - there are some bogus files on the point to point networks I hear through friends - it's open war between the studios and the services.

Blockbuster has a copy that they guarantee will play
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  3. If it's a digicam version of Potter, I got that from a friend last weekend and its ok. But how fast did you burn it and on what tipe of CD? I often have problems with silver/silver CD's if I burn faster than 12. Silver/Blue are better (but i.g. more expensive). And sure it depends on the DVD player. My experience: The cheaper the more they tollerate. The better ones (better sound and image) tend to be less tollerant.
