Hey everybody. I have been checking out the site and it seems really helpful. I recently purchased a set of VCD's from ebay and checked the website to see if my player would play VCDs and it said it would. Of course when they came my RCA RC55220P says they are an unrecognized format.
I do not have a DVD burner or software. How can I take these VCD's and try and recopy them in a different format that might work? Is this what DVD ripping is? I am not familiar with the termenology.
I was hoping to give these as a Christmas gift, but it looks like I need to fix them.
Thanks for any help!!!!

Do they play on your computer?
If so ,copy it onto you hardrive and try re-encoding it with TMPGE...
Rather than doing the whole movie, try a small sample and stop encoding, then burn it on a CDRW and check it out on your DVD.
Iwould check here again. It looks like there are some issues with CD-r and XVCD.
